Splashing The Public in Your Car is Illegal But Are Police Immune?

When you register your car are you aware that you are giving it away? Moreover, do you know the difference between travelling and driving? Then there is the road traffic act. So, discuss all the injustices to do with travel and cars etc.

Splashing The Public in Your Car is Illegal But Are Police Immune?

Splashing The Public in Your Car is Illegal But Are Police Immune?

If you drive your car through a puddle of water and you soak a pedestrian this is unlawful and illegal.
Its only right as well because it would be an assault.
You can be fined up to £5,000 and up to nine penalty points.

However, in Eastleigh, Hants, UK, the police seem to think differently!
Here is an article with video from a dashcam that shows a police car driving through a massive puddle which drenches a helpless pedestrian.

You do not see the police car slowing down or take any other action to avoid the situation!
The police have defended their drivers actions saying it was 'safer' for them to drive through the large area of surface water than to veer over the other side of the road or slow down abruptly.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said that it is "likely" that the officer made an "assessment" of the situation.

Is that so?

I suggest that Hampshire Constabulary should look at the video evidence instead of assuming that everything their minions do is perfect!

The police say they will investigate if the pedestrian complains.
Sorry, Hampshire Constabulary, but its all here if you have never seen it and an apology to the public at large would be better.

The police chiefs were bound to stick up for their officers.
Its quite alarming that they said that the offending police were "likely" to have assessed the situation when clearly they didn't.

If there is anything that shows what the police are really like its this story.
Those coppers never done anything to avoid the obvious assault on that poor pedestrian.
Then the higher ups in the police service stand up for the offenders
Well its all here isn't it.
The police should be there to serve and protect - that's their bloody job!

Well you would expect the police chiefs to stick up to the policeman on the street wouldn't you?
After all, its the higher ups that tell them what to do.
So the police chiefs stick up for them - whatever they do wrong!
I am free and they will not tell me otherwise

The police give an apology
You have more chance to see the Pope get a love bite on his ding-a-ling.
The police blatantly splashed the pedestrian and that's that.
The police will no apologise.
Look at those police programmes on television where the coppers just walk into peoples gardens looking for people.
I know what I would do if a copper walked into my garden - GET OUT NOW!

Shocking driving from that police car driver.
They really need pulling off the road with an official police apology.

I can't see the police taking any evasive action.
These people must think they can do what they want.
Of course, they can't!

The message I get from this is that the police chiefs are allowing their constables to go out on the streets to do what they like.
Anything they do will not be questioned - even when they do something wrong!
