No Standing Charge Tariff - They Tried It On

I switched to Ebico and their EquiGas & EquiPower which offers no standing charges on their gas and electricity.
They get their fuel from SSE I believe.
I have used no gas whatsoever since I made the switch as my gas boiler broke down and I never repaired it.
Out of the blue I was billed from SSE for twenty odd quid.
I sent them an email asking why I was billed when I used no gas as my boiler is broken.
They replied with "there will be standing charges" then they went on with all sorts of sales talk about how they can help with the boiler repairs.
So, without checking, they replied with that!

I have just sent them a reply back telling them to forget the sales chat and sort my bill out!
I am on a zero standing charge and used no gas.

I await their reply

Their reply today was that every company has a standing charge.
This is true but some have a zero standing charge!
I have replied to them again stating this.
I really can't wait for their reply.
Here is a link which clearly shows no standing charges.

Got a reply ha ha ha.
They said I am right that there is no standing charges.
Remember they said there was!
Now they are saying the estimate is a bill for gas used even though I told them I have no means of using gas.
Now they want a meter reading and the debt for their made up bill will go away.

A standing charge is for the meter.
If you have no meter then there is no standing charges.
If they have a no standing charge policy then they should stick by it unless their policy changes and for that to happen the electricity or gas company will have to tell you.
Glad to see its all sorted
