Sir Cliff Richard - Allegations Not Enough To Secure Conviction

Sir Cliff Richard - Allegations Not Enough To Secure Conviction

The CPS have dropped the case against Cliff Richard after two years of investigations that has cost £800,000 so far.
Cliff Richard's name was leaked by someone with connections to the police or the Crown Prosecution Service when he was questioned.
Sir Cliff was never charged and he says he was hung out like ‘live bait’ and who could disagree?

Time to change the law so that nobody is named until charged in my opinion.
Can you imagine the anxiety that Cliff Richard went through by all this?

Innocent until proved guilty doesn't matter in cases like this because Cliff Richard will always have a tag to his name.
I hope Cliff Richard can help pressurise the government to change the law so that both the accused and accuser are not named until charged.
Only when charged will the Crown Prosecution Service believe they have over a 50% chance of a conviction.

Cliff Richard now has no case to answer to but that's not the point is it?

How on earth could this drag on for two years - the police are so dumb!
Keep the bastards honest.

Very true but I think everyone disagrees that Cliff Richard's name has been tarnished.
I hope he can sue the police.
I am free and they will not tell me otherwise

Two years to sort this all out :o
A few months should have sorted this.
Well done to Cliff Richard who acted with great dignity throughout.

What were the police thinking of by spending huge amounts of money on this.
Cliff Richard was never guilty of these sex abuse allegations.

Cliff Richard must have been seen as a soft touch.
Two years and a pocket full of money is far too much just because a few gold diggers got greedy.

I am glad Cliff Richard will not have to suffer any longer with this evil bullying.
I hope he is successful in his legal challenge to the BBC and the police.
He suffered enough and this sort of thing needs to be sorted.
