I want to pay less taxes now

I have been a very hard worker for most of my life and have paid so much tax into the system over the years.
I do not wish to continue paying taxes like I used to.
I don't want to cheat the system just work around it.
The government have had far too much off me over the years but now I want to slow down and pay less.
How will I go about this?

I have no debt.
I do not have a mortgage.
I am still working around 40 hours per week.

My aim is to go part time, say around 20 hours per week and under the threshold for paying income tax.

There may be council tax to pay.
I am aware that you still have to pay value added tax on most things, however I live with minimum possessions now.

What else can I do to pay less tax?
Any suggestions must be legal and lawful.

Unless you live entirely on the land as a free man then you will always have some taxes to pay.
How can anyone nowadays live on the land when it is all owned by someone?
I wish you well on your journey and if you discover how we can pay less taxes please inform us.

I have seen many trailers on the television recently advertising a TV programme coming to the box soon about how to legally avoid taxes.
I don't know when its on but it may be worth looking out for it.

I will start a new thread about taxes being illegal and unlawful so as not to conflict with the OP's question too much and keep the issues separate. Here is the link to my new thread on tax avoidance viewtopic.php?f=18&t=58
