A few obscure laws

Indeed, lawful and legal are like chalk and cheese. In other words, they are total opposites to each other. In fact, legalese is a massive part of the Grand Deception. However, live under common law and gain a little more freedom.

A few obscure laws

A few obscure laws

I like to read things like this it reminds you of other stupid things like being able to shoot Welsh people with a bow and arrow inside Chester city walls and after midnight.

Here are some outdated laws which have not been repealed.

1) A bed may not be hung out of a window

2) It is legal for a male to urinate in public, as long it is on the rear wheel of his motor vehicle and his right hand is on the vehicle.

3) It is illegal to eat mince pies on the 25th of December and this applies throughout the whole of England.

4) Taxi drivers are required to ask all passengers if they have smallpox or the plague

5) Any person found breaking a boiled egg at the sharp end will be sentenced to 24 hours in the village stocks (enacted by Edward VI)

6) Any boy under the age of 10 may not see a naked mannequin

7) On licensed premises It is illegal to be drunk.

I don't think you will be allowed to shoot a Welshman with a bow and arrow nowadays and get away with it, whatever the old laws state

Silly laws but well worth keeping.
Would they take precedence over other similar ones?
And really, would we get prosecuted for eating a mince pie on Christmas Day
Keep the bastards honest.

Yeah, some of these ancient "laws" can be funny.
Next time I have a mince pie on Christmas Day I might invite PC Plod into my home and see if he wants one

Until 1976 all Hackney licences taxis had to carry a bale of hay with them.
Some still carry a small bit in their boot as a reminder
This went back to the days when there was horse drawn carriages.
1976 - come on

I think a lot of these laws are just a myth to be honest.
I am sure there will be some outdated laws though.
So what happens if you break these old laws that have no relevance today?
